Throughout the season I will have my own analysis of team of the week and players of the week. This week there are many teams and players who could be nominated for this PRESTIGOUS award, but for team of the week it must be a team that won and did so in convincing fashion or an upset. So for this weeks award for team of the week goes to the Wyoming Cowboys who dominated a supposedly improved Virgina team 23-3. I expected Wyoming to do well and win against Virgina but the utter dominance was very surprising to me and especially with a defense wast to take a step back after graduation. That defense gave up only 108 yards from scrimmage and 6 rushing yards together. One state I did find to be spectacular was the Wyoming defense on 3rd down which allowed Virgina to convert only 3 of 13 third down attempts. Look for Wyoming to continue its winning ways next week when they host lowly Utah State.
As for player of the week there again many choices with all the teams that won and had good performances. I would go with BYU freshman Harvey Unga 67 rushing yards and a score to go along with leading the team in receiving with 127 yards and another touchdown. For a freshman to step in and play that well is pretty amazing. We will see if Unga can keep this up for next week as well when the Cougars travel to the Rose Bowl
