Saturday Preview

Invesco Field @ Denver 10am MST TV: Fox Sports National

This game used to be a warmup for CU but recently the Rams have been too much for the Buffs. I expect the Rams to win because the Rams get Kyle Bell back who is a top RB and should be able to run it up against the Buffalo defense. Also, Caleb Hanie returns for his Senior year and is a solid QB. As for the Buffalo's last year was terrible and Dan Hawkins does not want that to happen again, but the Buffs are starting a new QB in redshirt frosh Cody Hawkins who happens to be the coaches son. I will look for this to be close but see the Rams being able to pull of the win.

The Cowboys want revenge after last years devastating loss by missing an extra point to Virgina. Al Groh is a good coach, but Virgina is not that good. Al Groh is living off his rep as the former Jets coach, but look for Karsten Sweed to throw the rock, and this game will show if last years surprise season was a fluke or not. I expect this to be very close, but look for the boys of Laramie to pull this off.

Air Force better come out with the win and they will, but the real reason to watch this game is to see what the new Troy Calhoun Air Force offense will look like. I see the offense being pretty vanilla, because week two is their conference opener at Utah.

This is an interesting game BYU is breaking in a new QB and a new set of receivers, but overall I see this game being a low scoring game. Mike Stoop has the defense to contain BYU's offense, but Stoops is on the hot seat in Tucson, so this first game is huge. As for the outcome the Cougars have won 6 straight games at home and crushed everyone last year, so I see this coming down just like last year less then 20 points per team but the reverse outcome with BYU winning.

Here is the warmup game for the Horned Frogs before they get their shot at Texas next week. Andy Daulton is the starting QB, but look for Marcus Jackson to get some reps. TCU's offense is not much as for scoring power so look to see if Baylor can capitalize with a few big plays. The main concern is for TCU to not fall asleep at the wheel and look past Baylor, remember last year the score was 17-7 struggle. TCU should win but Baylor is pesky so two words for TCU: STAY FOCUSED

Sun Bowl 8pm MST TV: CSTV

This game is very intriguing last year both teams underachieved, especially UTEP. The Lobos to have Rodney Ferguson at tail back and should be able to run well against the Miner defense. In sayig that the Lobos have a new offense to learn again, but if the Lobos are to win they will need to be comfortable in this offense. This will be close but look for UTEP to win this game and the reasoning is because the teams are evenly matched and the main reason the Miners are at home.

When I include Thursday nights games I could see the MWC going 8-0 but more realistically look for a record of 5-3
