Craig Neal, associate head for the New Mexico Lobos under former head coach Steve Alford was named head coach at UNM late Tuesday afternoon

Multiple sources, including ESPN's Andy Katz, are reporting that the UCLA Bruins will hire New Mexico Lobos head coach Steve Alford for the vacant coaching position. UNM confirmed the news and announced a Noon MT press conference Saturday.

The 2013 Mountain West Conference Tournament comes down to top-seed New Mexico versus the 3-seed UNLV on Saturday night. MW Connection will be watching both from within the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas as well as on the CBS network nationally.
