The Derby: Gary Parrish Reports that Moultrie is the "Hottest Transfer on the Market"

First, the Austin American Statesman reported that the Texas Longhorns are interested in Arnett Moultire. Now, CBS Sports' Gary Parrish has blogged that Tennessee, Memphis, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Arkansas have tossed their hats in the ring. Excerpt: "Most high-major programs in the south -- Tennessee, Memphis, Kentucky, Texas, etc., -- have inquired about the 6-foot-11 forward since the Memphis native withdrew from the NBA Draft last week and announced he would not return to UTEP. And though Moultrie's hometown school remains in play, developments over the past 48 hours suggest Mississippi State and Arkansas have made strong pushes and positioned themselves well." A report out of Arkansas say that UTEP is "not cooperating" with Moultrie's transfer and that the Miners "want to restrict where Moultrie can transfer." Parrish notes that UTEP does not want to release Moultrie to Memphis or other C-USA schools and may also bar a transfer to Mississippi State or Arkansas which would require Moultrie to lose a year of eligibility, and pay his own way, should he end decide to end up there.
