Fresno State depth chart released

Fresno State gets their season under way on Thursday night as they host Rutgers in a big  time game to prove that Fresno State is a legit team. With the game upcoming the depth chart for Fresno State was released, and surprises are limited. The running back as expected has co-starters in Josh Quezada and Marteze Waller, and expect the Bulldogs to rotate carries between those two.

That running back spot is the only one listed as co-starters, meaning the rest of lineup is pretty much set in stone. With Fresno State being a contender for the Mountain West that is the way it should be for them.

Here is that depth chart:

Quarterback: Derek Carr, Brian Burrell

Running back: Josh Quezada or Marteze Waller

Left tackle: Austin Wentworth, Josh Tremblay

Left guard: Alex Fifita, Mike Saenz

Center: Lars Bramer, Bo Bonnheim

Right guard: Cody Wichmann, James Le'au

Right tackle: Justin Northern, David Patterson

Tight end: Marcel Jensen, Jerin McClendon

Wide receiver: Isaiah Burse, Greg Watson

Wide receiver: Davante Adams, Aaron Peck

Wide receiver: Josh Harper, Justin Johnson

Defensive end: Andy Jennings, Ben Letcher

Nose guard: Tyeler Davison, Maurice Poyadue

Defensive end: Nikko Motta, Todd Hunt

Outside linebacker: Nat Harrison, Ejiro Ederaine

Middle linebacker: Karl Mickelsen, Jeremiah Toma

Middle linebacker: Kyrie Wilson, Patrick Su'a

Outside linebacker: Donavon Lewis, Brandon Hughes

Cornerback: Curtis Riley, Jamal Ellis

Safety: Charles Washington, Dalen Jones

Safety: Derron Smith, Rodney Mathews

Cornerback: L.J. Jones, Shannon Edwards

Utah State depth chart released

The Utah State Aggies are heading 90 minutes to Salt Lake City, Utah, to take on their in-state rival Utah Utes Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1. With the game now just two days away we have the Utah State depth chart. There are very little surprises here as most of the spots were already predetermined with Chuckie Keeton at quarterback, Joe Hill at running back the entire offensive line and even the wide receiver spots were mostly known.

The only real unknown came at the secondary spot for Utah State. Head coach Matt Wells went with Tay Glover-White and Nevin Lawson to man down the cornerback spots and at the safety positions were awarded to Brian Suite and Maurice Alexander. All are upper classmen and while this position was hotly contested, the secondary has some depth to interchange the players.

Without further ado here is the Week 1 depth chart for Utah State.

Colorado's depth chart

Colorado released their depth chart for the Colorado State matchup.

Colorado names Connor Wood starting QB

It shouldn't come as a surprise that junior quarterback Connor Wood won the starting job in Boulder. But CU made it official today, meaning Wood will kick off the Mike MacIntyre era under center when the Buffs take on Colorado State in Denver on Sunday.

A former high school All-American at Second Baptist High School in Houston, Wood began his career at Texas before transferring to Colorado after the 2010 season. He played in seven games last year with one start, compiling 265 yards and four interceptions while completing 21 of 42 pass attempts. Not exactly confidence-inspiring numbers, but what other choice does MacIntyre have?

Former starters Nick Hirschman and Jordan Webb were both out of the running after Hirschman transferred to Akron, and Webb sustained a torn ACL in spring ball before being arrested on second-degree assault charges. Former prized recruit Shane Dillon left the team in July to pursue basketball.

Wood's only real competition came from true freshman Sefo Liufau, who will start the season as his primary backup. Webb (who may not ever play another down of college football), JC transfer Jordan Gehrke and sophomore Stevie Joe Dorman are the other quarterbacks on the roster.

Colorado State has a quarterback quandary of its own; a three-way competition between junior Garrett Grayson, sophomore Conner Smith and true freshman Nick Stevens, with the Week 1 depth chart set to be released today.
