The Wyoming Cowboys have been a surprise team in the 2013 Mountain West season, well except for that loss to Texas State, but the school's good play has been rewarded. Wyoming was originally to host Fresno State on Nov. 9 was originally to be on the Mountain West Network, but ESPN stepped up and will broadcast the game.
The exact ESPN channel is unclear meaning it could be on any of its platforms, but odds are it will not be on ESPN3, and the very least it will be on ESPNU. If the game does get picked up by ABC, ESPN or ESPN2 then the two teams will each get a $500,000 bonus per the Mountain West's television deal. Expect an announcement of the particular channel about 10 days before the contest. Also, the original broadcast time was set at 3 p.m. ET, but that could change with ESPN's scheduling needs. Hopefully, this is not a 10:15 p.m. ET kick at Laramie, Wyo., because the weather could be an issue.
This matchup will be a great one to see between two of the leagues best quarterbacks in Fresno State's Derek Carr and Wyoming's Brett Smith. This game could also just possibly be a conference title preview game. Maybe a long shot on Wyoming's side but its offense is very good and can compete with Boise State and Utah State for the Mountain Division crown.
Getting Fresno State on TV could really help the team's BCS chances and also pump up Carr and his Heisman campaign.
