Wyoming was going toe-to-toe with San Diego State at home on Saturday afternoon, and even had a 28-21 lead at the half. Quarterback Brett Smith had two rushing and passing touchdowns, the running game was playing respectable with D.J. May and wide receiver Robert Herron had 10 receptions for 187 yards plus two touchdowns.

However, this game ended as predicted with San Diego State wearing down that poor Wyoming rushing defense, to win 42-28. Adam Muema had a career day for the Aztecs with 255 yards on 26 carries, plus he had four touchdown runs, including an 82-yard score. Overall, the San Diego State rushing attack put up 400 yards, and averaged over eight yards per carry.

That was the demise for Wyoming, they were allowing San Diego State to just run the ball at will. Plus, it does not help that the San Diego State defense found a way to get to the quarter, and they sacked Smith six times. The Wyoming drives in the second half were all under 10 plays, with the exception of one.

Despite not being able to move the ball all that well, Wyoming was in this game late in the fourth quarter. They had the ball with 7:38 left in the game and down 14, but after driving to the Aztecs 15-yard line the Wyoming offense stalled out. The game was officially over after that incomplete pass on 4th-and-5.

This win for San Diego State gives them a share of the conference title with Fresno State -- maybe even Boise State depending on their outcome next week against Nevada -- which is their first in Mountain West history, and first conference title since they won the WAC back in 1998.
