Cary Edmondson-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
Here are the very early Mountain West football standings. For more Mountain West Connection Follow @JeremyMauss
The Mountain West football league portion of the season is barely underway, and every team except for Wyoming has played no league games, with Air Force being the exception has played two games. There is not much in the way of much information on the league standings in so few games, but that should change over the next few weeks.
The big shocker was UNLV topping Air Force two Saturday's ago, and the next closest shocker was a near-miss by New Mexico who nearly erased a 25-point halftime deficit against Boise State.
Below are the current Mountain West standings:
Again, with so few games, here is my power rankings:
1. Nevada
2. Fresno State
3. Boise State
4. San Diego State
5. Air Force
6. Wyoming
7. UNLV
8. Colorado State
9. New Mexico
10. Hawaii
The top three were fairly easy to point out, but that order may depend on what time of day one speaks to me. Then Hawaii being 10 was also a no brainer, but everything else in between was somewhat difficult. Actually, the top five is pretty firm with either San Diego State or Air Force.
Feel free to create your own top 10 in the comments, and make fun of mine while you are at it -- or bullishly agree with my rankings.
