The San Diego St. Aztecs are going to be without starting quarterback Ryan Katz, possibly for the remainder of the game. During the second drive of the game, Katz was looking to take off as no player was open, but he was sacked by Nevada's Jeremiah Green.
Katz went down very hard and has a right leg, or possibly even ankle, injury when Green tackled Katz. During the tackle the two players rolled over during the process placing pressure on Katz's right lower leg. He was taken off the field on a cart, and currently is status to return is unknown.
Coming into replace Katz will be Adam Dingwell, the big loss with Dingwell coming into the game is that he does not have the mobility that Katz brings to the table. However, the drop off in production should not be too steep as Dingwell was in a tight race late into fall camp to try to win the starting quarterback job.

The run-base pistol offense for the New Mexico Lobos was in full effect on Saturday afternoon, and the star was Lobos running back Kasey Carrier who set a Mountain West record 338 yards. Carrier also had three touchdowns and averaged 8.7 yards per carry. However, that record-setting day was not enough as the Air Force Falcons held off Carrier's record-setting day to win 28-23.
This game could have had a different ending since on the first play from scrimmage Carrier broke off a 68-yard run, but was stopped at the 1-yard line. New Mexico settled for a field goal.
Then late in the game New Mexico's Tim Foley striped Air Force's receiver Ty MacArthur to set up a potential game-winning drive. The Lobos were driving in the red zone of Air Force, but for some reason when it was 4th-and-4 at the Falcons 12-yard line Carrier was not in the game. The play that was run was a rush by wide receiver Lamaar Thomas who was in the game as the 'wild cat' option, but the play was snuffed out and the play had a loss of four yards.
Had New Mexico scored a touchdown on that first drive then a field goal is all that the Lobos would have needed, or have Carrier in the game to get the four yards.
Air Force was without running back Cody Getz, who was the nation's second leading rusher heading into this game, who has some ankle injury and left the game very early in the game, he also did not carry the ball at all.
With Getz out, it was Wes Cobb who led the Falcons with three touchdown runs, all from 1-yard out. On the day he rushed for 82 yards, but it was wide receiver Ty MacArthur who led the Falcons in rushing with 94 yards. MacArthur had 61 receiving yards on four receptions.
The Air Force defense also deserves credit by shutting down New Mexico on third downs, where they limited the Lobos to just 5-of-14.
