Week 8 Mountain West football TV schedule

Just four games this week in MWC Week 8 football action.

The slate is slim this week with just four games, and they are also on television which is very much welcomed this week. Each game is a conference matchup, and they all have the chance to be interesting matchups.

The best game of the day is San Diego State at Nevada, because it is a game featuring the best times within one contest. It also will have big implications on the conference title race. Nevada is going to be the favorite because they are the better team, and at home. Wolfpack should be getting back quarterback Cody Fajardo so that should be the difference. San Diego State has a chance since they are likely to be excited for this game.

Wyoming at Fresno State comes in next, and this game can be broken down into one key player. That is Cowboys quarterback Brett Smith, he is an excellent player, but he has missed time due to injury or makes dumb mistakes to get him removed from games. At this point in the season you are what your'e record states, but Wyoming at 1-5 could easily be 4-2, or maybe even 5-1. The Fresno State secondary is possibly the best Wyoming will have seen, so this will be a challenge for the Wyoming passing game.

Up next, New Mexico at Air Force. The Falcons are on a down year, and their rush defense gives up 215 yards per game. They will have their hands full against an effective rush offense by New Mexico which is seventh in the nation at 280 yards per game. This will be a game that could easily feature 575 yards on the ground, and even possibly exlipse the 600 yard mark. The big question: Can New Mexico pull off the upset?

Finally, UNLV at Boise State. Yes, the Broncos are wearing black uniforms, but that is not enough to make this a marquee game. What to watch for is if UNLV's offense can make some noise against a very good Boise State defense, and also if Boise State's offense can get back to blowing out opponents.
