Colorado State school president Tony Frank has officially recommended to go forward for an on-campus stadium. For more Mountain West Connection

Earlier on Monday, Colorado State school president Tony Frank was expected to recommend that the on-campus for Colorado State move forward. Monday afternoon Frank went forward and did recommend that the stadium go forward. There is no agreement in place but Frank's recommendation, and it moves onto the Board of Governor's who have a meeting at the end of the week.

The stadium is expected to cost $250 million, and the goal has always been to raise the funds from private donors, and not use tax payer money. Now the plan is to take on $125 million in debt and take in the other $125 million from private donations. The $125 million in private donations is key to have the project move forward.

Frank also mentioned that the stadium plan could include a $16 million alumni welcome center that would be attached to the proposed stadium.

Not sure how the Board of Governor's will vote on this process, but with half of the stadium financed it could move things along more quickly. More details will come once the Board of Governors meeting at the end of the week, but things look to be moving forward as planned.
