Fresno State's Garrett Swanson, Kyrie Wilson sign UDFA deals with Arizona, Oakland

+

Swanson, the three-year punter for the Bulldogs, agreed to a UDFA deal with the Arizona Cardinals. It's an interesting landing spot, as Arizona was 29th in raw punting average and 31st in net average, giving him a chance to be more than a camp leg. Wilson, meanwhile, was quietly one of the most consistent defenders in the Mountain West over the last few years, and he follows fellow Bulldogs Derek Carr and Josh Harper in beginning their NFL journeys as a part of the silver and black.

Fresno State DB Charles Washington signs deal with Detroit Lions

After spending significant time at both cornerback and safety in his time with the Fresno State Bulldogs, Charles Washington agreed to a UDFA deal with the Detroit Lions. The only draft pick the Lions had spent in the draft on the defensive backfield was a third-round selection on Southern Utah's Miles Killebrew, so Washington may have a strong chance of catching on.

Fresno State LB Ejiro Ederaine signs free-agent deal with the Washington Redskins

After a successful career as one of the Mountain West's best defenders, the Bulldogs linebacker has landed in the nation's capital on a UDFA deal. Washington spent one draft pick at outside linebacker, on USC's Su'a Cravens, but he joins a team that's found a lot of recent success in developing pass rushers.

Utah State WR Hunter Sharp signs free-agent deal with Philadelphia Eagles

The Aggies' top wideout went undrafted in a WR-rich class, but he's signed an UDFA deal with the Eagles. Philadelphia has made recent investments at the position with Jordan Matthews and Nelson Agholor, so Sharp will have some work to do in order to find a spot.

Boise State DB Donte Deayon signs deal with New York Giants

Donte Deayon was one of the first Mountain West players to earn a UDFA deal and he will be joining teammate Darian Thompson in New York City with the Giants.

'Dogs to face Nebraska in primetime on Big Ten Network

1

First noted by Brian Towle over at Corn Nation, it appears that, when the season kicks off on Saturday, September 3, the Fresno State Bulldogs will be the only Group of 5 team to be featured on the B1G's TV network in primetime action within the first few weeks of September. No start time has been announced as of yet, though I'd anticipate something like 5:00 PM PT/6:00 PM MT.
