hile the coaches poll means next to nothing in terms of who earn a spot in the College Football Playoff, but it does signal that the season is getting much closer.
Within the Mountain West Boise State is the only team to earn a ranking in this preseason poll and come in ranked at 24th, with Air Force and Utah State receiving votes.
There are plenty of opponents on this list with each school facing multiple preseason rank teams, or teams getting votes.

San Jose State | Auburn (7) Boise State (24) BYU (RV) Air Force (RV) Utah State (RV) |
Per these preseason rankings, Boise State has a fairly easy schedule this year as does San Diego State as they face zero preseason ranked teams. Again, while these polls don't have an impact on the playoff the committee looks at strength of schedule, so if Boise State is to make a long shot run at the playoff they need other teams to exceed expectations to get any consideration.
