Even though Dave Rice hasn’t landed a recruit in the 2015 class, UNLV has secured a commitment from a top player in the 2016 class. Justin Jackson is rated as the 28th overall player in 247 Sports’ composite rankings. Jackson is a 6-foot-7 small forward and the number two player in the state of Nevada.

He is originally from Toronto, but has been playing at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada, a suburb of Las Vegas. Current Runnin’ Rebels Christian Wood and Rashad Vaughn attended Findlay Prep. Jackson also has been part of the U-17 Canada's national team where last year he averaged 11.2 points and six rebounds.
At 6-foot-7, Jackson should fit well into Dave Rice’s scheme, as the current roster is filled with six wing players between 6-foot-6 and 6-foot-8. UNLV has aided greatly from assistant coach Todd Simon who was a long time assistant and head coach at Findlay Prep, and his addition to the staff is starting to pay off.
