According to the San Diego Union-Tribune's Mark Zeigler, San Diego State men's basketball has sold out it's 9,500 season tickets in Viejas Arena for the third consecutive season. At the end of the 2014-15 season, the Aztecs will have played in front of 55 straight sell-out crowds.
The rest of Viejas' 12,414 seats goes to the 2,500-seat SDSU student section, "The Show," and sponsor and media sections. Zeigler reported that most of those sponsor and media sections are renewals from last season.
Zeigler spoke with SDSU Associate Athletic Director Steve Schnall, who said that the 2013-14 season-ticket holder renewal rate for this season was 97 percent.
Schnall also Zeigler him that SDSU will begin offering mini-plan packages on September 29.
So if you aren't a student and didn't get season tickets, have your credit cards and your mouse-clicking hand ready on September 29 to grab those mini-plan tickets before the rest of San Diego does.
SDSU seniors? Pretty soon you'll be shelling out money like you fellow red-and-black clad fans, so enjoy your easy-access, free tickets (if you're willing to wake up early) while you still can.
