Facts about the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl

Here are some quick facts about the game with CSU and Utah in the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl:

  1. Payout to the schools is 1 million dollars(although i'm not sure if that is to each school, Help me out if you know).
  2. Before Fresno States lost to USC, Boise had previously won the last 3 Matchups in this bowl game.
  3. Colorado State has appeared 1 time in this game while Utah has played in this game 4 times.
  4. Brent Musburger will be announcing the game.
  5. Speaking of the game, it's start time is 1:30 MST.

The Utes are 4 point favorites according to what i have looked at and it makes sense to me. CSU has lost their head coach and the players could be primed for a let down. However, I realistically think Utah is a very good matchup for CSU(can't explain why it is just a gut feeling).

Playing a old MWC rival like Utah should make the game a fun atmosphere. After seeing the pay for this bowl game it makes so much sense to me why games like this should matter for a program. If CSU beats Utah they will be undefeated against Pac 12 Teams in their last 3 games against them as well as recieve a potential 1 million dollar pay day. Building on this plus our "McElwain" fund from Florida should give CSU athletics more exposure and more importantly CSU's facilities the funding for the continued renovations they keep it a relevant power in the MWC.

There are still plenty of tickets to be sold for the game on the CSU side. Hopefully this changes but if you're like me living somewhere else the TV will have to do.

So fight on Rams and beat the Utes!
