Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr may be considered the fourth quarterback in this year's NFL Draft, but that doesn't mean that the former Bulldog doesn't have great qualities. One expert is giving Carr a lot of love in one of the most watched over categories: Arm strength.
ESPN and noted film guru Jon Gruden joined SirusXM and said that Carr has the best arm in this year's draft. That has been the growing sentiment and watching Carr play this past year it is clear that he has a big arm and can make the down field throws.
While Carr has been considered the fourth quarterback just outside of Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater and Blake Bortles; that is changing some with Carr being included amongst the first tier.
NFL Network's Charles Davis has Carr as his first quarterback off the board at No. 11 in his most recent mock draft, Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine called Carr the most natural thrower and it has been known for a while that the Oakland Raiders really like Carr. On the Raiders, their trade of Terrelle Pryor blows wide open their quarterback race.
The NFL Draft is still a few weeks away and that just gives everyone more time to evaluate and critique all the positions, but the growing praise for Carr means he will more than likely come off the board in the first round.
