The Mountain West released their initial slate of televised games that will take place on Friday night. This initial slate of games lineup for a nearly once a week contest and only once (Nov. 21) where there are overlapping games.
Of the 11 contests seven are on an ESPN platform with four being on CBS Sports Network. There are four conference games and all of those are on either ESPN or ESPN2, and that means those schools will get a $300,000 television bonus for being a non-Saturday game and on a network in 90 million homes.
The two big conference matchups are San Diego State at Fresno State on Oct. 3 and then Fresno State goes to Boise State on Oct. 17. The main non-conference attraction is Boise State hosting BYU on Oct. 24.
San Diego State and Fresno State lead the way with three Friday night games, and then Boise State and New Mexico come in next with two.
These are expected to be the only conference controlled Friday night games.
