The Nevada Wolf Pack currently have three scholarships to offer for the 2014-2015 season. They may have filled two-thirds of those spots recently with two possible verbal commitments.

Following the 2013-2014 basketball season, the Nevada Wolf Pack will lose their best player, Deonte Burton, to graduation. This leaves Nevada with big shoes to fill the following season. Taking a look at the current roster, the only viable replacement at Burton's position, point guard, would be Marqueze Coleman, who many see as more of a shooting guard.

Noticing this possible gap, head Coach David Carter needed a point guard who could step in immediately and contribute, and apparently he found his guy. According to the Reno-Gazette Journal, Eric Cooper Jr., a former Arizona commit, has given a verbal commitment to the Nevada Wolf Pack. His scout.com profile lists him at 6' 4" 185lbs and a two star recruit. It's important to recognize that a verbal commitment can be broken, so it is not guaranteed that Cooper will be in a Nevada uniform come 2014.

Additionally from to the Reno-Gazette Journal report, Cooper said another recruit, Kaileb Rodriguez, was willing to give his verbal commitment to Nevada. Rodriquez spent a year as a redshirt freshman at Cal, but transferred to Sheridan College for this upcoming 2013-14 season. If Rodriquez does come to Nevada in 2014 he will have three seasons of eligibility and compete for playing time with A.J. West, Chris Brown, Ronnie Stevens Jr. and Lucas Stivrins.

Here are some highlights of Cooper Jr.:
