Aztecs to play Tar Heels next fall

Aztec football will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., next season to play North Carolina. The game against the Tar Heels is scheduled for September 6, 2014.

SDSU Athletic Director Jim Sterk announced Thursday September 26th that Aztecs football will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., next season to play North Carolina. The game against the Tar Heels is scheduled for September 6, 2014.

Next year will be the second meeting between SDSU and UNC. The teams previously met at the 1998 Las Vegas Bowl with North Carolina escaping with a 20-13 win. San Diego State is only 3-6 all-time against teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

The Aztecs will play two non-conference games road next year against North Carolina (September 6) and Oregon State (September 20th) In addition, San Diego State will play Mountain West road away games at Boise State, Fresno State, Nevada and New Mexico. The Aztecs still have two games to fill on the 2014 schedule.
