Aztecs add Anthony Juarez from Centennial High School to the Aztec 2013 recruiting class. The 6 foot 6 inch, 310 pound lineman can play both guard and tackle for the Aztecs.

San Diego State made an offer to offensive lineman Anthony Juarez from Centennial High School in Corona, CA. Juarez stands 6 foot 6 inches and weighs in at 310 pounds, he was a four-year starter and all conference player who played in two State Bowls. Centennial was said to have the best offensive line in the Southern Section of the CIF with an average height of 6’3" and weighing in at 297 pounds. Centennial went 14-2 in the 2012 season with a well-balanced attack, averaging 278 yards in the air and 256 yards on the ground per game.

Juarez was lightly recruited even with the high school accolades, he is a strong kid who benches 315 pounds and squats 450 pounds. But according to Scout.com, only Idaho, New Mexico State and San Diego State made offers to Juarez this spring. In high school he was devastating blocker, but would out weighed most of his opponents by 100 pounds, he won’t see that weight differential in the Mountain West. His 5.5-second 40 time is a tad slow and know doubt the Aztecs will be working on his shape, speed and athleticism this fall.

The bottom for Juarez he is the latest add to the Aztec recruiting class of 2013, and according to his coach Matt Logan, he will be enrolled and wearing red and black this fall on the Mesa. For Juarez it doesn’t matter when you get your letter as long as you get it.
