Aztecs get a big boost to the 2014 class with a Mikah Holder commitment

Keep your head up Mikah Holder, you are an Aztec - Student Sports

Aztecs split the difference with Stanford. Alijah Holder commits to Palo Alto while Mikah Holder decided to stay home.

Oceanside, Calif., has been a hot bed for Aztec recruiting through out the recent years and that will be no different for the class of 2014. San Diego State is 40 miles south of Oceanside, a straight shot down the I-5. The Aztecs looked north and extended offers to twins Mikah and Alijah Holder, younger brothers of Aztecs cornerback King Holder. Aztec fans were hoping for a package deal with the twins, but when Alijah committed to Stanford Mikah decided to stay home.

Mikah a 6-foot-1, 170-pound wide receiver committed to San Diego State late Wednesday night and told Rivals.com that the Aztecs' new commitment to the passing game played a big part in his decision. Thank you coaches Bob Toledo and Brian Sipe!!!

Mikah selected the Aztecs over offers from Arizona, BYU, Idaho, Nevada, San Jose State and Yale; while brother Alijah committed to Stanford earlier in the week. Although the Oceanside twins will be split up, Mikah will get to play with his older brother King, a red shirt junior cornerback and a good one at that.

Holder a 3-star wide receiver grabbed 42 passes for 825 yards and 11 touchdowns for the San Diego Section Division II champion Pirates. The Holder twins are known for their athleticism, ball skills, length and discipline and the Aztecs are pleased to have half of the Oceanside twins in the class.

The Aztecs now have 12 commitments for the recruiting class of 2014. Holder and Patrick Henry receiver Jabril Clewis are the only two receivers who've committed so far. Holder is the highest ranked recruit to be signed this spring.
