Two high school wide receivers out of California decided to pull the trigger on Sunday and commit to the Broncos. Both are seniors this year. Shay Fields, 5-10, 165 lbs, is from St. John Bosco High School (Bellflower, CA) and Sean Modster, 5-11, 187 lbs, is a product of Mission Viejo High School. Both are highly talented receivers and will join the Boise State 2014 class.
Fields chose Boise State after a visit last week and mulling over offers from San Jose State, San Diego State, Nevada, Fresno State and Hawaii. Last season as a junior, Shay Fields made 25 catches for 576 yards including 4 TDs, leading his team with an average of 23.04 yards per reception. He also does kickoff returns and had 4 last year for that averaged 16.80 yards per run. Fields is a three-star recruit on both Rivals and Scout.com.
Sean Modster is also a three-star recruit on both Rivals and Scout.com. And with good reason: during the 2012 season with the Mission Viejo Diablos football team the wideout made 45 catches for a total of 935 yards, averaging 20.77 yards per grab. Sean Modster finished his junior season as an All-County second-team receiver.
Fields and Modster makes the ninth and tenth recruits for 2014 committed to the Boise State football team.
