The Louisville Cardinals played like the top overall seed in this NCAA tournament, as they crushed the Colorado St. Rams, 82-56. For the first 12 minutes this game was close, but then Louisville's notorious full court press defense came up big and clamped down on the Colorado State offense.

Louisville forced Colorado State into 19 turnovers with 11 steals, and the Cardinals turned those into 24 points and was the main reason they were to win. The Rams just could not get into an offensive rhythm, and at times just barely crossed half court within 10 seconds.

Those turnovers also limited the amount of shots Colorado State had, which was 40 to Louisville's 55. It also did not help that Colorado State's defense allowed Louisville to shoot 56.4 percent from the field and 6 of 10 from beyond the arc.

The Cardinals were led in scoring by Russ Smith who scored a game high 27 points on 7 of 15 shooting, four of those were three-point shots, and overall they had three others in double figures.

Colorado State was led by Greg Smith who scored 14 points, but Dorian Green had one of his worst nights as a Ram where he went 2 of 12 from the field with just six points.

There is not much to say about this game except that Louisville is very, very good. They brought their defensive pressure and just took it to Colorado State. Louisville is the No. 1 overal seed for a reason, they are dominant on both sides of the ball, but it is their defense that is their strength.
