Last Week: 2-4
Season Record: 27-29
In a season of surprises and expectations, we see that this year has already been utterly confusing. I'll admit right now: I have zero confidence in any picks. That being said, let's get to the games.
All times in Pacific Time Zone
9:00 AM: Army at Air Force (PICKEM), O/U=53.5- This spread confuses me, but at least there's no points to cover. One wins, one doesn't. As of right now, Army still has a chance to win the Commander in Chief's trophy, Air Force is caught trying to prepare for next season.
My Pick-Army wins- There's way too many questions about this Falcons team, and the Black Knights surprisingly are still in contention for a bowl. Air Force doesn't ruin that.
1:00 PM: Hawaii at Utah State (-24), O/U=50.5- The Aggies showed that they don't need Chuckie Keeton to win against weaker competition a couple of weeks ago, and that's a good sign for the future. Hawaii is still bringing 4 quarterbacks on this road trip. I do not see good things happening.
My Pick-Utah State covers- This is kind of ridiculous spread, but after Utah State's 45-10 beat down a couple of weeks ago, they should be able to do as well against an arguably worse team.
1:00 PM: San Jose State (-5) at UNLV, O/U=66.5- Both of these teams are riding the momentum they need to carry them into a bowl game. If you listened to the podcast, I claimed that the Spartans need this win more and will be fighting harder for the win. UNLV, on the other hand, will be riding their positive momentum from last week and may have their guard down a little.
My Pick-UNLV beats the spread...- However, they will lose this game. Fales is helping mature this young team, and also is still putting up 400 yards a week. That'll be too much for the Rebels.
5:00 PM: New Mexico at San Diego State (-14), O/U=57.5- The Aztecs are now looking like the team we thought they would, despite the loss last week to Fresno. New Mexico has shown this season to be a one-man offense, and if you can stop Kasey Carrier by jamming up the middle, you can very easily stop the Lobos.
My Pick-SDSU covers- The Aztecs will beat up on this Lobos team without too much effort. The Lobos will continue to look for an offense that doesn't 100% depend on Carrier.
5:00 PM: Boise State (-7) at Colorado State, O/U=59.5- BEWARE THE RAMS. Both Colorado State and Boise State control their destiny for the Mountain division. That being said, I'm unsure when the last time in history, Boise State lost back-to-back games. The Broncos offense rebound despite Shaquil Barrett racking up 10 tackles.
My Pick-Boise State covers- As good as Barrett is, the Broncos offense should be better.
7:30 PM: Nevada at Fresno State (-21), O/U=73.5- The spread points it out perfectly: the Bulldogs are definitely the more superior team on the field. Whats more, Fresno State NEEDS this dominating performance to impress in the polls. The Wolf Pack just lost the cannon, and it will be interesting to see what their response is.
My Pick-Fresno State covers- The Bulldogs should win this game handily, and will put Nevada in a win-out scenario for any chance of making a bowl game.
