Navy announces Air Force game is a go on Twitter, but quickly deletes tweets

Dale Zanine-US PRESSWIRE

The Naval Academy may have jumped the gun on announcing their game against Air Force was back on.

This Saturday at 11:30 a.m. ET on CBS there will be a college football game played between the Air Force Falcons and Navy Midshipmen, The Naval Academy sent out a simple tweet to announce the first leg of the Commander-in-Chief trophy will be played on as scheduled.

Or so we thought that was the case. The Naval Academy twitter feed had these tweets below on their account, but they have now been deleted.

An update from their Twitter feed is investigating these prior tweets:

A decision is expected to be made by noon Eastern on Thursday. The options have been to use non-government funds through private donors, or using conference money, television revenue and ticket sales to be able to fly Air Force players to the game.

So, did someone jump the gun on making an announcement, or will the lame excuse saying that the Naval Academy Twitter account was hacked.
