Week 7 Record: 3-2
This week, we continue with a limited number of games because of conference play. Here's a quick guide on how to bet this week.
All times are listed in Pacific Time Zone.
11:00 AM: Colorado State at Wyoming (-6.5), O/U=66.5- Welcome to HATE WEEK, where the we start off with the Border War. The spread isn't as much as you think, and that's probably because of the rivalry. Last week, Wyoming did not look great versus New Mexico, while Colorado State gave up 431 yards through the air against San Jose State. There is also a streak on the line as well: no team in this rivalry has ever won more than 5 in a row. Can Wyoming break the streak?
My Pick-Wyoming covers- Wyoming will break the streak, and the duality of Brett Smith's game will be too much for the Rams to stop.
5:00 PM: Nevada at Boise State (-24.5), O/U=68.5- Boise State is not a great team this year, but Nevada's defense couldn't stop a wet paper bag. This is also HATE WEEK for these two teams, as the rivalry has only intensified since the early 1990's. The problem for the Wolf Pack this week, is that Boise State's defense has improved (admittedly versus weaker competition) over the course of the season.
My Pick-Boise State covers- 24.5 points is way too much for a rivalry game, however Nevada's three wins have come unconvincingly. My score guess would be 45-23, Broncos.
6:00 PM: Utah State (-13) at New Mexico, O/U=51- Utah State is starting a freshman quarterback, while New Mexico has been pushing for a win but hasn't quite gotten there in conference. They won't get there this week, but they will be close again.
My Pick-New Mexico beats the spread- I'm going against what I initially said in the podcast. Utah State squeaks this out by a touchdown.
7:00 PM: UNLV at Fresno State (-25), O/U=74- THE OVER/UNDER IS RIDICULOUS. That being said, UNLV has improved enough to make this a game in the first half. The issue is really Fresno State's defense. They rank 103rd in the nation in scoring defense and that's including last week's game where they only gave up 14 to Idaho.
