Week 12 of the Mountain West Conference season provided some interesting twists and turns as the Boise St. Broncos and Wyoming Cowboys were knocked from consideration of being among the MWC elite (or so it seems).

But things have and still can turn on a dime in MWC play. So here's MW Connection's picks for the top three games to see this week:

• The No. 15/17 New Mexico Lobos at Wyoming - Wed. Jan. 30, 7 pm MT | Arena-Auditorium, Laramie, Wyo. | Root Sports Rocky Mountain: Wins at the A-A have historically been hard to come by for the Lobos. But UNM has extra motivation for this game - staying in first place in the MWC. UW on the other hand, is teetering on the brink after losing to Air Force Saturday in the A-A. Should be a hoot.
• Wyoming at the Colorado St. Rams - Sat. Feb. 2, 5 pm MT | Moby Arena, Ft. Collins, Colo. | Root Sports Rocky Mountain: The games of the Border War series are typically intense on their own accord. But depending on how the games Wednesday night go, a loss to the Rams could be the death knell for the Cowboys' NCAA hopes. And CSU will need the game to keep pace with the league's top three. So buckle up.
  
• The No. 25 San Diego St. Aztecs at the Air Force Falcons - Sat. Feb. 2, 1 pm MT | Clune Arena, Colorado Springs, Colo. | Time Warner Cable SportsNet: The surprising Falcons have dinged the title hopes of Boise St. and Wyoming in the last two weeks. Will San Diego St. be the next top flight team to be taken out by Air Force? Their play in the win New Mexico says "no" but we'll see.
