Ace recruiter Brian Polian is making some noise as signing day approaches.
Currently, the Nevada Wolf Pack are ranked No. 12 out of 12 for their 2013 recruiting class within the Mountain West. However, new head coach Brian Polian, known to be an amazing recruiting, is making some noise by inviting some solid players this weekend.
Brandon Huffman of Scout.com mentions a few key players who are taking visits to Nevada:
Nevada is hosting Los Angeles (Calif.) Pierce linebacker Matthew Lyons and Corona (Calif.) Roosevelt cornerback Elijah Mitchell as well as Gardena (Calif.) athlete Tyree Simmons, a commit to Colorado State and Compton (Calif.) Dominguez cornerback Kalan Montgomery, a commit to San Diego State.
If Polian is able to flip Tyree Simmons and Kalan Montgomery, it will be just another player he has convinced to switch from a Mountain West school to Nevada. The most recent is 6-foot-5-inch, 285-pound junior college offensive lineman Braxton Isaac. Isasc was previously a commit to San Diego State, but made the switch to Nevada on Jan. 24.
Out of the group that is visiting Reno this weekend, the two best players are Montgomery who is a three-star player, and rated as the No. 85 cornerback in the country. While Montgomery is committed to San Diego State, he took a visit to Hawai'i on Jan. 19, but then again an official visit to Hawai'i is nice.
The other three-star player on this weekend trip is Mitchell who is also a cornerback, and he is rated as the 106th at his position. He has offers from Boise State, Army, Colorado State, New Mexico State and Wyoming.
While Polian is playing catchup with the other Mountain West teams, he is doing a good job of getting players to visit the schools right up until signing day.
