There was a lot of movement after plenty of upsets this past weekend in the second week of college football, and it caused the bottom four spots of the AP poll to be filled with new opponents. With all the shuffling, most would have thought that Boise State would have made it into the rankings since they were at No. 26 last week.
Solid Verbal breaks down Week 2
Well with the off week and not having a chance to increase or decrease their stock, Boise State stayed at No. 26. However, they did earn more votes in the Week 2 AP poll, but they had 106 compared to 110 that the No. 25 BYU Cougars received.
Future Mountain West team Utah State did receive a single 25th place vote after defeating instate rival Utah, for the first time since 1997.
If Boise State is to get a crack at the BCS -- which could be possible since they are close to the rankings -- they need Louisville to not get any higher in the polls.
It is still very early for BCS talk, for the most part, but if the Mountain West is going to get a team in a big money game it will be Boise State.
