Sean Schroeder will be the #1 QB for UH.
Announced today by the Star Advertiser, Schroeder emerged as the starter after three fall practices. Coach Chow insisted that he needed a leader right away and was implying at the quarterback position. David Graves who left spring camp as the #1 QB is working out now as a receiver.
Schroeder who graduated from Duke last year did not play in 2010 and 2011 so he will have two years of eligibility as he is now working on his masters. He played in a similar pro-style offense as a Blue Devil so he understood what Coach Chow expected in his offense and instantly became a leader in the huddle.
Right now Schroeder is not on scholarship. If he retains the job through training camp, he is expected to receive one. Jeremy Higgins, a transfer from Utah State was also a candidate to be starter.
