One of the best things to come across in the news is the fact that the regents in Nevada are allowing UNLV to move forward with their stadium plans.
The importance of this stadium can be a game changer. UNLV just recently built a new 13 million dollar basketball facility that has been a key point in getting new recruits. With the idea of having one of the largest stadiums in the MWC is very appealing. Originally they were going to build the stadium down by the Thomas and Mack.
Now they are going to build this facility on the north side of campus where it will be a center piece for UNLV. The money alone that this could generate for UNLV could be a game changer. UNLV already has the largest athletic budget in the Mountain West. Tie that budget into the fan base and the TV market one would have to think that a program that has a stadium larger than several pack schools, basketball facilities that rival Duke and Kentucky might not be in the MWC if they can start winning as a football program.
