Big East Commissioner Resigns

14

Big East commissioner John Marinatto resigned this morning where he has served as the Big East's commissioner since July 1, 2009. Marinatto has received a lot of blame for many of the league's current ills including the defections of Syracuse and Pittsburgh to the ACC and TCU and West Virgina to the Big 12. His resignation comes at a time when the league is set to begin negotiations in September with ESPN and other networks on new media deals. Marinatto joined the Big East in 2002.
