With the impending losses of BSU and SDSU where should we go. I think we should still shoot for a 12 team league with a championship game. This would mean we would have to add two more teams but who? The teams should have some winning tradition with a large potential fan base and a desire to elevate their facilities and game to highest levels. Utep comes to mind but I'm not sure they would want to come at this time. Two teams that have not been mentioned are FCS and in the west. Portland st and Eastern Washington st. Portland has 30,000 enrollment direct air nice facilities good success at the FCS in football and at times good bball teams and a large potential fan base like USU and SJSU. Eastern Washington was the FCS national champion in 2010, good facilities, direct air from most MWC cities and they draw from a population base about the same as Boise st around 500,000.
The problem with Idaho and New Mexico st was the very small population base around them. They were hard to get to, not able to fund raise enough to upgrade their poor facilities so no potential for growth, thus no potential for success.
