Conference realignment has struck again as the Navy Midshipman have backed out of a four-year series between the UNLV Rebels. The series was to begin in 2014 and go through 2017 with home the first and last year of the games to be in Las Vegas with the middle two years to be played at Annapolis, Md.
The cancellation is no surprise since Navy is set to join the Big East as a football-only member in 2015, and perhaps 2014 and moving from an independent to an eight- or nine-game conference schedule. So there is no room for UNLV since Navy already has a set non-conference schedule with Air Force, Army and more than likely keeping their long time series with the Notre Dame.
With Navy off the 2014 schedule, UNLV's non-conference schedule is down to Arizona and Louisiana Tech and 2015 they play UCLA.
