Speculation has mounted over the past few months that San Diego State was reconsidering its move to the BIg East. Over the weekend Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News tweeted that SDSU was talking to the MWC about reserving a spot in the revamped league in case the Big East doesn't work out. "Not true," San Diego State Athletic Director Jim Sterk responded Monday, trying to put an end to the spectulation. "We’re full steam ahead. We’re excited about the upcoming 2013 season when we move into the Big East (in football) and Big West (in other sports)."
