National Signing Day 2012: Fresno State Announces Their Class
The Fresno St. Bulldogs are one of three newbies joining the Mountain West next year, and like the Colorado St. rams and New Mexico Lobos they too hired a new head coach. Fresno State ranked last out of the 10 Mountain West teams for their 2012 class.
Here is a video package put together by the school of the 2012 class.

LOL.
Your article tagged the wrong Brandon Hughes.
I don’t give too much credit to recruiting rankings. Ryan Mathews was a two-star recruit. Both of those RBs were all-state selections and rushed for over 8 YPC and 1900 yards. Some services don’t even have them graded.

Hmm...
I pulled this directly from the Fresno State site and I kept their links since it goes to the schools site with video highlights.
recruiting rankings
For the smaller schools not in the BCS the players are not evaluated, or they are not reevaluated during their senior year. Which means a lot get the generic two-star rating. In contrast if a player verbally commits to USC, Notre Dame, Texas or so on they probably get a bump up in rating.
I think overall they do a good job, but there are just not enough people making the rankings to get everyone evaluated properly. I actually wrote for Scout.com covering the University of Utah but the site writers don’t do the rankings we would just interview prospective commits and report news.
Exactly. You just took the words out of my mouth.
Thomas had no offers besides Fresno State, and interest from one school – North Dakota State. Waller got looks from Tennessee, Georgia, and Georgia Tech, but I believe his academics drove them off, and he ended up with only an official offer from Colorado State and Fresno State. Either way, both of them are far more than mere two-stars. I wouldn’t be surprised to see one or both snatch some snaps at RB from Rouse this upcoming year.
Also, interviews with the signees and head coach DeRuyter can be found here: http://1430espn.com/podcasts/
Most are already up. I believe the rest will be posted sometime soon.
