Rocky Mountain Showdown To Be Played Sunday Sept. 2

The annual Rocky Mountain Showdown football game between the Colorado St. Rams and Colorado Buffaloes is going to be played at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Sunday Sept. 2. This game had been played on Sunday's in prior years and has been played in Denver in eight of the last 11 years with the other three years the game was played at Folsom Field at Colorado.

Colorado State has not won against Colorado since 2009, have only won three times in the last 10 games and have lost the last two games against Colorado. The games have been traditionally close in the past decade with only three games being decided by more than 10 points.

This also will be the first game in the Jim McElwain era and will be a big game to see what type of team Colorado State will be.
