2013 Under Armour All-America game: Fresno State commit QB Zack Greenlee has potential to breakout

Scout.com's Brandon Huffman predicts that Fresno State commit quarterback Zack Greenlee could have a breakout week.

Fresno State verbal commit Zack Greenlee was added as an injury replacement for the 2013 Under Armour All-America game, but for some reason he has gone under recruited. Greenlee was a late bloomer on the camp circuit where he was named the MVP of the Las Vegas Elite 11, and had a very good performance in the Elite finals. Even with those performances offers were not rolling in.

Scout.com's Brandon Huffman sees Greenlee as being a player who could possibly breakout this week:

For whatever reason, he didn't get a lot of recruiting attention, despite doing everything he needed to. The Fresno State commit did his part to make an impression, but at times, was overshadowed on his own team by the nation's top running back, Justin Davis. On the big stage once again, Greenlee will get a chance to make a name for himself.

Perhaps having the Davis on his team has made some schools skeptical since opposing defenses would be playing to stop the run instead of stopping the pass of a very good quarterback.

His stats during his senior year were not eye popping as he threw for just 1,953 yards, good enough for 162 yards per game, but he did have 22 touchdowns to just two interceptions. Those two picks came in the season opening game, and finished the season by going 11 straight games without a pick.

Practices will be where Greenlee can make a name for himself, because he will get plenty of reps going up against these top recruits. Having succeeded in that setting in the Elite 11 camps, Greenlee could possibly move up the depth chart for his team. Being a late add likely means that Greenlee is going to start at the bottom of the depth chart once practices begin this week.

The other quarterbacks on his team that he will be competing for playing time with are Christian Hackenberg (Penn State), Cooper Bateman (Alabama) and Kohl Stewart (Texas A&M).
