If you haven't done your Pick'em for this week, you should.
Knowing the smaller teams create quite an advantage when it comes to Pick'em's or parlays. Since everyone focuses on the bigger teams, not many know how to bet the smaller teams and therefore typically lose. The true college football fan knows not only his team and his conference, but they can make "guesstimates" on how good the other teams are based on watching games hour after hour. Hence, the fan will know more about the sport than the media, the odds-makers and the ESPN commentors.
Last week: 7-1 (5-3 if you count actual games I predicted to "win" and not cover)
Overall: 29-21

10/13/2012, Noon Nevada (-12) at UNLV, O/U-N/A-- There is so little betting information given about this game, that the opening bet didn't go up until yesterday. Part of me says that Nevada's going to blowout UNLV, the other part of me knows better. Nevada is decent, not good and UNLV is not horribad. We can see an upset brewing, especially at Sam Boyd. The key player? Nick Sherry.
My Pick- UNLV COVERS AND POSSIBLY WINS - Nevada fans are pissed at me, but I WAS ALMOST RIGHT LAST WEEK IF IT WEREN'T FOR BRETT SMITH AND THE REF. Depending on how Nick Sherry does, I expect him to tear up Nevada's secondary: after all, Nevada got beat by B.J. Daniels... Bet a Rock Star energy drink
10/13/2012, 12:30 PM Fresno State at Boise State (-9), O/U-57.5-- Clearly Vegas does not know how good Fresno State is. To be fair, neither do we as the Bulldogs got blown out by the Ducks and lost in strange fashion to Tulsa. At the same time, we really don't know how good BSU is either. I'm going with Blue Turf.
My Pick-Boise State covers- This is more of a homer pick than anything else. The Bulldogs are good, but I think the Broncos are better. Defense will be the key in this game. Bet a pack of pens.
10/13/2012, 1:00 PM Utah State (-1) at San Jose State, O/U-47-- The battle for the WAC starts here. Opening at +1, the Spartans now have a 3-point favorite. Pick whoever you want.
My Pick- San Jose State- I'm going with the home team here. The better bet will be how many fans show up. If more than ten thousand fans show up, the Spartans will win. Bet a six-pack of Anchor Steam.
10/13/2012, 3:30 PM Colorado State at San Diego State (-19), O/U-56.5 -- No hope for CSU? Not this year apparently. After SDSU dismantled Hawaii, they look to do the same. Nineteen points is steep, but doable if they keep playing like they did last week.
My Pick- SDSU covers- I really struggled with this pick, mostly because the point spread is really big. Go ahead and bet a tub of licorice.
10/13/2012, 4:00 PM Air Force (-5.5) at Wyoming, O/U-60.5-- We're still confused as to how Air Force lost last week. Also, Brett Smith will be playing this week after getting ejected last week, meaning no suspension. Cody Getz versus Wyoming's defense or Brett Smith versus Air Force's defense, choose your poison.
My Pick- Wyoming covers, possibly wins- This is not a stupid upset pick, this is just a regular upset pick. Air Force looked really bad, Wyoming looked decent against Nevada, ergo Wyoming will win. Their camo unis will lose though... Bet a long sleeved shirt, because it'll be cold in Laramie.
10/13/2012, 8:59 PM New Mexico (-3) at Hawaii, O/U-60.5-- Something's happening in Albuquerque. FOOTBAW BAWB has done it, he has made people believe in the football program again. The team is 3-3 for the first time since 2008 and they're travelling to the islands to play a Hawaii team, who is looking more atrocious each week.
My Pick- FOOTBAW BAWB gets it done...again- The team will have a winning record at the end of this week. Yes, you heard me correctly, now go: bet a twelve pack of Hawaiian Punch.
