If you haven't heard by now, UNLV has adopted the pistol as their offense this season. There was originally some uncertainty to how much they were going to use it this year, but it eventually turned into a key part of their offense helping them upset Hawaii this past Saturday. And it's sounding like the offense is there to stay at least for the time being.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal recently ran this article talking about UNLV's adoption of the pistol, and the success they've had with it so far in this young season.
However, there's just one problem.
"It's not like people haven't seen (the pistol) or it's some wildly foreign concept," Hauck said. "It is a little different for us. We didn't make a big deal out of it. It's been good."
Hauck wishes he could find some other name for the pistol because UNR coach Chris Ault created that offense.
Oh no!
Poor Bobby I thought, and being the good citizen that I am I wondered if maybe I could help him out. Alas, my team bias might cause the same problem.
So I turn the question to you: What should UNLV call their offense?
Submit your answers here, and if there's a favorite I'll email Coach Hauck our suggestion.
Now's your chance to rename the "pistol"!
