Against the Spread Week 3: Above .500 and Waiting for the Music to Stop

Photo

 Last Week: 4-1-1
Overall: 8-3-1 (.727)

LSU Tigers -3.5 @ Mississippi State Bulldogs
Dan Mullen has clearly turned MSU into a dangerous team but they still can't hang "athlete-wise" with the SEC's elite whether they bring "more cowbell" or not.  24-20 LSU.

Texas Longhorns -3.5 @ UCLA Bruins
No Gilbert?
No problem.  Also gotta think about the "revenge-factor" and that Mack Brown and his Longhorns are no strangers to the Rose Bowl.  28-17 Texas.

Star-divide

Texas Tech Red Raiders -21 @ New Mexico Lobos
Last season Tech beat UNM by 35 points, 52-17, and I don't see why this game will be much different.  45-10 Texas Tech.

Kentucky Wildcats -6 vs. Louisville Cardinals
I watched the Louisville-FIU game last week and I was horrified by how badly coached the Cardinals were.  Charlie Strong should be ashamed of himself.  I know nothing about UK so this pick is based soley on homefield advantage and by how awful Louisville looked last week.  24-13 UK.

Utah +4 @ BYU
The "Holy War" is almost always a nail-biter and I trust Jordan Wynn.  21-20 BYU.

Oklahoma State Cowboys -13.5 @ Tulsa Golden Hurricanes
Weeden to Blackmon.  Weeden to Blackmon. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.  This spread will be covered by halftime.  41-23 OSU.

I think Tech wins by 20, Tubs is just not a spread beating coach.

TCU won the 2011 Rose Bowl
Auburn won all the Tostitos.
Who do you think got the better deal?

Luckily for him Locksley has never seen a spread he could cover

I will never get over the UNM-TCU game last year when they left WR’s completely uncovered pre-snap. If your defense can’t even lineup correctly you are probably a sh!tty coach, here’s your sign.

Tech by only 21?

Never underestimate the Lobos ability to lose bigtime. Locksley should have been let go last year, but the buyout was more than UNM could handle. Most likely a search committee will be created come December!
