Not sure how I’ll be able to pay attention to the game with this Brad Pitt Money Ball Ad on the side of my screen…

I know, you're a better fan than me.

I was hoping, but not expecting much different. 53 lb per man advantage on the line is ridiculous.

Jeeeeze. 14-zip.

I hope the Rebels can at least make a fight out of it.

2 for 2!

Uh oh! This is not a good omen. Wisco 2 for 2!

OK, 13-zip.

I feel a little better now.

As long as Wisco beats Nebraska..

It’s not that I don’t want a MW team to beat a Big Ten team, I just want everybody to beat Nebraska!

I thought that was a good drive

to come away empty.

The Rebels offense hasn't been too bad.

Not so much the defense…

No, its been the D that has not looked good.

I would have thought the new DC, Paulson?, would have put together a better team.

Sadly it gets worse...

Bret Bielema isn’t exactly known for calling off the dogs at any time. Consider last year’s drubbing of Austin Peay 70-3, Indiana 83-20, and Northwestern 70-23.

Probably the biggest surprise of tonight

Has been how well the offense has played for the Rebels. They’ve been able to drive down field, just haven’t been able to finish off drives. The running game has been above average and Herring hasn’t had a turnover. Now if we can just get some points before the end of the game…

I had no idea they were using the pistol

did they do that last year? or is it a brand new thing this year?

by pack_fan on Sep 1, 2011 7:27 PM PDT up reply actions

and by last year, I mean use it occaisionally

I didn’t catch many UNLV games and never really noticed what sets they were using, but I don’t remember seeing pistol sets.

by pack_fan on Sep 1, 2011 7:28 PM PDT up reply actions

This pistol is entirely new this season.

Never seen UNLV use it, but it is working very well for the Rebels. UNLV’s running game is actually fairly decent in this game, as is the passing game.

interesting

I wasn’t really able to catch this game, and its far enough gone now that I don’t think I’m going to tune in, but I’ll have to try and catch a few of their games to see how they run it.

UNLV is most likely going to cover.

Just for the record, when I called in for a Wisconsin radio station yesterday to talk about the game, I did say that UNLV would lose by 20 points. Two more Rebel touchdowns and my prediction will come true.

Just a bit short of 20

They did cover the spread though, just barely.

UNLV covers by 1 point. Amen.

Public Enemy #1 and enjoying every minute of it. College Football for the next 4 and 1/2 months!
