The matchups for this year's 2011 NIT Tip-Off Tournament were announced today, and will feature one current Mountain West team as well as a future conference member.
Stanford will play host to Colorado State and Fresno State, as well as Conference USA's Southern Methodist, for first and second-round games beginning November 14. The Bulldogs draw the tough matchup with the Cardinal, and the winner of that game will face the winner of the Rams-Mustangs tilt for a berth in the semi-finals at Madison Square Garden.
Other teams hosting the first two rounds are Syracuse, Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech. The NIT will also feature notable teams like giant-killers George Mason and Isaiah Thomas's Florida International squad. At first glance, it seems as though the 'Dogs and Rams will have a tough go of it if they have hopes of winning the whole tourney, but who do you suppose has the better chance of doing so?
