The Western Athletic Conference Board of Directors will wind up two days of meetings in Park City, Utah today. WAC Director Karl Benson is expected to address the media afterwards and announce the possible expansion of the conference. After the departures of Boise State, Nevada, Frenso State, and Hawaii the league will be made up of Idaho, Louisiana Tech, San Jose State, New Mexico State, Utah State with FCS schools Texas State, Texas-San Antonio and non-football playing member Denver joining in July 2012. That will leave the football program with seven members and eight in basketball. Both Seattle and Utah Valley made pitches to join and await their answer, but have no football programs. Sam Houston State, Lamar, Montana, Montana State, Sacramento State, North Texas and Cal Poly have all been discussed as possible football members, but Montana and North Texas are already on record as declining an invitation.
