That’s the question everyone is debating this week, following word that the BCS fined the Fiesta Bowl a sum of $1 million as punishment for improper activities being performed under and by former Fiesta Bowl CEO and president John Junker.

In the aftermath of a scandal that included illicit campaign contributions, questionable spending and the firing of its longtime CEO, the Fiesta Bowl's future place amongst the BcS rotation was very much up in the air.
One million dollars is not nothing: It represents approximately 1/23rd of the Fiesta Bowl's reported assets (although those figures are prior to hosting January's BCS Championship Game) and will be donated to Arizona youth charities that were supposed to be getting it in the first place.

Yeah well, to be honest, 1 mill for them is nothing really! Sad but true.

Sometimes BCS has to do what BCS has to do. That is to mark the line between good and wrong and give some directives to follow. If some are following various financial schemes to hide their funding, spending and others then BCS must apply fines to them, bijuterii argint remarked. These fines are to the future good of Fiesta Bowl.
