What should I do in Reno?
Hey guys,
The wife and I along with another couple from the Great State of Texas will be heading to the Silver State to do one of the few things we can't at home, gamble and ski. We'll be skiing Heavenly at Lake Tahoe Monday to Thursday but will also be spending all day Sunday and Thursday night in Reno since they gave us free rooms. But having never really spent any significant time in Reno, I wanted to know if there's anything I have to do during my short stay. We'll be staying at Harrah's Casino and will have a rental car but we don't want to venture out too far from their, but any food or sight seeing recommendations would be helpful. Part of Sunday will be spent driving around from casino to casino so I can add to my $1 chip collection (78 and growing), but besides that we don't have any real plans so any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Sadly we havent had much snow so I don't know how the ski resorts will be like. Most are using artifical snow machines.
I don’t do much but the best place to ask is on the SilverandBluesports.com forums
Inside Harrah’s is the Hash House a Go Go which serves some crazy food displays so you should give that a try. I work in the Siena which is almost next to Harrah’s. Circus Circus has an indoor circus that runs every day. Circus Circus, Eldorado, and Silver Legacy are all connected and all of them have several clubs and bars which you can bar hop easy without going outside.
breakfast brunch at the eldorado. don't miss it. best ever.
This is national TV. So don't pick your noses or scratch your nuts.
kidding aside, Reno's downtown area doesn't hold a salt to Vegas'
Vegas crushes Reno in terms of appeal of the casinos. I personally don’t mind ghetto casinos, but I completely understand if a tourist would be offput by them. Unfortunately most of the casinos in Reno are of that variety.
Only recommendation I would offer
is to walk around downtown, specifically near the river since that is the nicest area downtown, and choose a place that looks or sounds good. Aside from that spend as much time as you can up at Tahoe, since that is the crown jewel of the area without a doubt. Truthfully I’ve been away from Reno for long enough that I’m not sure what to recommend, if it were during the summer I would tell you to take in a baseball game at the Aces park.
