As expected Chris Petersen will not be a candidate for the UCLA Bruins job, according to ESPN's Joe Schad. The Boise St. Broncos just hired Mark Coyle as their new athletic director and his first order of business was to keep Petersen the head coach at Boise State.
"My No. 1 goal is to keep Chris Petersen at Boise State University," Coyle said. "He's raised the bar. How do we help him move the needle and take it to the next level?"
Petersen has rarely even returned calls about other job openings and the closest he came to leaving Boise State was when Petersenhad discussions with the Stanford Cardinal this past January. Petersen will always be at the top of most schools list to be their next head coach, and next in line is the Texas A&M Aggies who just fired Mike Sherman and have Petersen on their wish list.
