BCS Rankings Projections, Week 12: Boise State Expected To Be No. 9

Even by losing to the TCU Horned Frogs, the Boise St. Broncos are still expected to be in the top 10 of the latest BCS standings. However, the loss all but killed Boise State's chances of making a BCS bowl game, because the rules for a non-AQ team to get the automatic bid they must be in the top 12 of the final BCS standings AND win their conference. So even though Boise State is expected to be ranked ahead of the Houston Cougars -- who are expected to be No. 11 -- Boise State is relegated to at-large consideration.

I guess the powers at large with the BCS never took into consideration that two non-BCS schools could be ranked in the top 12, and even more so that one could have a loss and still be ahead of another undefeated team. The only Boise State gets a BCS bid now is if they are selected as an at-large team or have TCU lose two Mountain West games to give Boise State the MWC crown. Probably not going to happen.

Week 12 BCS projections:

1. LSU
2. Oklahoma State
3. Alabama
4. Oregon

6. Arkansas
7. Stanford
8. Clemson
9. Boise State
10. Virginia Tech
11. Houston
12. South Carolina
