College Football Rankings: Boise State Remains No. 5 In Coaches Poll

In the latest USA Today Coaches poll, the Boise St. Broncos stay pat at No. 5 and the TCU Horned Frogs are just on the outside looking in as they are the first team in the other receiving votes category. Also, seeing the Georgia Bulldogs move up to No. 20 is helpful for Boise State to improve their strength of schedule.

Boise State still needs to have teams above them lose and next week one will fall since LSU and Alabama play each other and then Oklahoma State and Oklahoma play as do Oregon and Stanford. There is a chance that Boise could eventually get to the coveted No. 2 spot if the higher ranked teams lose. However, Oregon and Oklahoma are both right behind Boise State and could surpass Boise State if those teams win out. There is a lot of football left.

Coaches poll is after the jump.

Tulsa and Toledo

both have decent records with a chance to win the CUSA and MAC championships, respectively. I’m rooting for both of them to win their conferences which would (should) help the BSU strength of schedule as well.

Tulsa actually has only lost to OU, Okie State and BSU this year. Here’s hoping they run the table the rest of this season.

Correct

Everyone on their schedule that wins helps them overall, even the little stuff helps.
